Katy Perry is apparently working on finding a female celeb to kiss during this year's live telecast of the awards show on Sept. 7.

Katy Perry held nothing back when she spoke to New York radio station Z100 Thursday morning.

She tells Elvis Duran and the Morning Show that she and Miley Cyrus have a special relationship.

"We have a nice little texting relationship going on," she said. "I hope to be sitting next to her at the VMAs."

For the record, Perry will be performing at the September 7 show.

When asked if Scarlett Johansson was her inspiration behind her hit song "I Kissed a Girl," she replied, "Uhh... yeah! Raise your hand if you would all go there!" adding, "This song is going to grown on you like TB."

This week, "I Kissed A Girl" remained in #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 while "Hot N Cold" went from #68 to #47. "One Of The Boys" climbed from #20 to #14 on The Billboard 200. The album is also currently at #10 in Canada. More chart updates coming soon!

Katy has been officially nominated by MTV in some of the 'Professional categories' that have just been announced today. Besides "Best Female Video" and "Best New Artist", "I Kissed A Girl" also got Katy nominations for: "Best Editing", "Best Cinematography" and "Best Art Direction". Congrats, Katy!

McCoy has been dating the I Kissed A Girl singer for two years and she has become one of the boys on the tourbus.

Bandmate Eric Roberts says, "Anyone who can handle Trav has my respect to the utmost."
