Katy Perry talks about the inspiration behind “Peacock”, another song off her new album ‘Teenage Dream’, available in stores now and through digital retailers!
Katy has been picked to start the new season of Saturday Night Live! Tune in to NBC for the September 25th season premiere, and watch Katy perform as the musical guest.
According to TVGuide, Katy is set to make an appearance on the season eight premiere of The Ellen Degeneres Show! (September 13th, 2010) Are you guys excited? Can’t wait…
Katy Perry kissed a girl and liked it back in 2008, but since then, she’s proven that she’s more than just a pop singer who dresses like a pinup and makes kooky little tunes. Perry has established herself as a woman to be reckoned with, and she has two chances to take home a Moonman at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, airing live September 12 at 9 p.m.
The X Factor returns for its’ second audition episode tonight at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITV1 HD. The Xtra Factor straight after at 8:45pm on ITV2. Tonight’s episode has been changed to Dublin auditions instead of Birmingham due to the autotune issues. Guest judge Katy Perry is on tonight!

Katy Perry was sinking. It was a listening party for her new album, “Teenage Dream,” and there was a beach theme, with palm trees, surfboards and gallons of sand trucked in to decorate a Midtown event space. If she were Lady Gaga she might have required a walkway built of trellised stuffed animals or prostrate assistants; instead there were just models in bikinis, eating cotton candy and tossing a beach ball: postcard Americana. Ms. Perry wasn’t happy when she saw the small desert between her and her seat — “I don’t want sand in my stilettos,” she said, pouting, echoing one of her lyrics — but she is just a regular girl gone big, so she gamely tottered across the sand in her four-inch platforms, the heels disappearing with each step. Wearing flip-flops isn’t really in the pop star playbook.
Sorry, scandal buffs, this kitty isn’t catty. Katy Perry’s claws are fully retracted on the topic of Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, her rumored rivals.
“Some people have a secret fetish to start catfights, and they want me to be more competitive than I actually am,” Perry says. “I’m a fan of Rihanna and Taylor and Gaga and Beyoncé and Miley and all those girls. We can coexist because we each bring something different to the table. That’s what’s great about female pop music these days. The ones who are shining are contributing to this big colorful spectrum.”
Few pop ingénues are as big or colorful as Perry, who is dominating the airwaves with summer smash California Gurls featuring Snoop Dogg, the buoyant, sun-drenched response to Jay-Z’s Empire State of Mind. The first single from Teenage Dream, out Tuesday, builds on the success of 2008 breakthrough One of the Boys, which sold 1.3 million copies and spawned hits I Kissed a Girl, Hot N Cold, Thinking of You and Waking Up in Vegas.
Katy Perry is dangerously close to falling. Not because she’s launching herself into the air with a harness like Pink, or clomping through a Heathrow terminal in 12-inch platforms, like Lady Gaga. This pop star’s potential collapse is due to an unfortunate combination of sand, schmoozing and exquisite heels.
At dusk on a squint-inducingly sunny, mid-June evening, Perry’s handlers have transplanted a beach party scene, complete with parasols, inflated balls and a sprawling stretch of sand, to the posh New York event hall Espace. About 100 select members of the music industry — mostly radio programmers, but also Perry’s Capitol Records team and the Norwegian production duo, Stargate — have surrendered their cell phones for the price of hearing nine tracks from the singer’s new album, “Teenage Dream.”
EMI Australia and Baskin Robbins are teaming for a tasty tie-in to support the launch down under of Katy Perry’s upcoming album, “Teenage Dream.”
On its Aug. 27 release date, anyone who strolls into one of Baskin Robbins’ 17 ice cream parlors in Sydney or eight stores in Melbourne will be rewarded with a free “cotton candy” ice cream should they mention the American pop singer’s name. Conditions apply for the “Katy Perry Day” treat, notes a statement issued today by EMI.
Perry touches down in Australia this week to play a one-off show for Debit MasterCard users on Thursday (Aug. 12) at Melbourne’s Plaza Ballroom, and she will back it up with a performance the following day on free-to-air Channel 7′s “Sunrise” breakfast show.
Katy is everywhere! She’s also featured on the cover of the September issue of Glamour magazine’s UK edition. Hopefully more scans and outtakes will be available soon!
Posing seductively in a leopard-print basque, it’s clear Katy Perry is feline fine.
And it’s also obvious how her incredible figure managed to tame legendary bed-hopper Russell Brand. But she takes another view of the animal attraction between the two. “It was a cosmic collision,” says the 25-year-old I Kissed A Girl singer. “No one changes unless they want to change themselves.
“I think he was ready for change. You just don’t have the stamina to be in bed with 80 different women a week when you’re 35.”
Nevertheless, with a wedding planned for a few months’ time, Katy is aware life as the new Mrs Brand will require some adjustments.
