Katy Perry guest starring on Raising Hope – March 6th on Fox –

The Fox comedy Raising Hope has found a cool way to make some noise in its new time slot on March 6: It’s bringing in Katy Perry!

EW has learned exclusively that Perry will appear in the episode as Rikki, a prison attendant who claims to be an old buddy of Sabrina’s (Shannon Woodward). Perry was a shoo-in for the job after creator Greg Garcia learned that she and Woodard were best buds in real life.

“Shannon told me that her friend Katy was interested in doing an episode and I thought, why not? Let’s do your friend Katy a favor,” said Garcia in a statement. “Then she came in and did a terrific job. And now people are telling me that Katy is also a singer. I sincerely hope that her appearance on the show helps her get her singing career off the ground.”

Adds Perry, “A couple of weeks ago, I was home, just toasting up a frozen chicken fillet when Shannon called me up and asked if I wanted to do something ‘fun’ for a change and try out a guest role on her TV show. I thought, sure, I have nothing else to do, and I like chillin’ with my best friend. Greg was nice, but I hope he’s not secretly sabotaging my potential future career by type-casting me in the role of just a looker, so that I would never be able to play anything more challenging.”

In the episode titled “Single White Female” Sabrina is arrested after participating in an Occupy Natesville protest and is sentenced to two weeks in the pokey. Rikki (Perry) makes her stay a memorable one.

Katy Perry’s ‘Part of Me’ Debuts Atop Hot 100!

Katy Perry’s “Part of Me”rockets in at the Billboard Hot 100 summit!

Following her appearance at the 54th Grammy Awards on Feb. 12, Perry, who performed “Part” in a medley with her former No. 1 “E.T.,” engineers just the 20th No. 1 entrance in the Hot 100′s 53-year history. Lady Gaga had last stormed in at the chart’s top spot almost a year ago (Feb. 26, 2011) with “Born This Way,” which also benefitted from Grammys exposure last year; “Born” reached retail and radio the Friday before last year’s event, at which Gaga sang it.

“Part” marks the first start at the pinnacle for a single on the storied Capitol Records label. The song is Perry’s seventh career Hot 100 No. 1.

After Capitol released it to radio and retail on Feb. 13, “Part,” the lead single from Perry’s “Teenage Dream” deluxe edition, “The Complete Confection” (due March 27), blasts in atop the Hot 100 and Digital Songs with 411,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan, marking Perry’s best career sales week. On Radio Songs, “Part” launches at No. 36 with 35 million audience impressions, according to Nielsen BDS.

“Confection” picks up where the original version of “Dream” left off: producing a Hot 100 No. 1. Dream matched Michael Jackson’s Bad (1987-88) by tallying five Hot 100 leaders, the most toppers from a single album over one release in the chart’s archives.

Katy Perry steps out in Las Vegas

Back in the United States to see friends and support a charity, Katy Perry strolled down a red carpet for the first time since her split with Russell Brand.

The singer rocked her blue hair and donned a cocktail dress with metal studs at the overnight Friday event for Givelove.org, which provides sustainable low-income solutions Haiti earthquake victims.

Markus Molinari, a designer for J. Molinari Jewelry, told PEOPLE that Perry was doing “amazing” and she was in town to support his cause because “that’s what friends do.”

At the event at the 1 OAK club in the Mirage Hotel, Perry hung out in a VIP booth and watched her pal Ferras perform.

“She was really tame,” a source said. “She was really just drinking a few drinks and chilling with her friends.”

Earlier, Perry went to Stack restaurant, joining a table of 18 and dining on steak, seafood and red wine and listening to another performance by Ferras on the piano. Perry was seen clapping, cheering and swinging a napkin the air.

The singer is back from doing shows in the Philippines and Indonesia.

10 Super moments from Katy Perry’s concert

Katy Perry was worth the wait.

As her concert kicked off its explosion of sparkle and sugary goodness, we soon forgot that she made us fidget for two hours.

Manila was the final stop of Katy Perry’s “California Dreams Tour.” The show, which was presented by Smart and held at the SM Mall of Asia’s Concert Grounds was fantastic, so fantastic that it has been close to a week and we still have a Katy Perry hangover.

Here are our favorite moments from the show:

1. The opening video and all the videos between songs. They are the crazy saccharine mix of Wizard of Oz, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice In Wonderland and a trip to Dylan’s Candy Bar. We’d totally watch the videos again if we could.

2. When the curtain finally rose to deafening screams and revealed Katy’s Candyland-inspired stage. We loved the giant cupcakes, the huge lollipops and the cotton candy screens. And the first song—“Teenage Dream”—gave us goosebumps.

3. Katy asking the crowd, “Manila, did I save the best for last?” Some 25,000 people agreed—yes, yes she did.

4. Katy performing the song “Peacock.” It was hilarious, naughty and, thanks to an abundance of feathers, a visual treat.

5. The search for Katy’s “Manila boyfriend.” “How old are you? 12? I don’t want to go to jail!” Katy said to one of the fans volunteering. We all know who she ended up choosing.

6. Katy reminiscing about her first Manila concert. “It’s really hot in Manila. I’ve been here before. When they said, “Should we come to Manila?” I said, “Hell yes. I like their shopping malls and their people so I’ll be fine. I’m excited to sing my favorite songs with you.”

7. The stripped-down version of “The One That Got Away.” It was incredibly touching.

8. The fireworks during “Fireworks” (and the light-up dress Katy was wearing while singing it).

9. The outfits—the dazzling, sparkling, candy-inspired outfits. (Even her mic was bedazzled.) She showed a flair for quick change artistry by changing into seven different outfits while performing one song. We love that she ended “Hot N Cold” while wearing the chocolate sundae dress.

10. The encore—“California Girls.” The audience bounced giant beach balls around as Katy sprayed them with her bubble gun and gingerbread men danced on the stage. No wonder we left the show with an intense craving for ice cream.

Katy Perry Re-Releasing Teenage Dream With New Tunes

The Complete Confection will feature tracks that didn’t make it on the original album.

Katy Perry gave fans their Teenage Dream when she dropped the album back in 2010, and now fans should expect to experience a bit of déjà vu.

The singer will drop a re-release of the album scheduled to March 13, 2012. Playing up the album’s sugary-sweet imagery, it will be called Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection. While little else is known about what will appear on the album, producer Tricky Stewart did shed some light on the project when he spoke to MTV News last fall. He teased that several tracks that didn’t make the final cut for Teenage Dream were being reworked for this project.

“Katy and I went into [the studio] just to address some issues with records that we had done in the past that didn’t end up going on Teenage Dream,” he said in October. “So we are in the process of just listening and freshening up things and getting ready for something special she has going on.”

While the track listing for the re-release is still unknown, Tricky did shed light on one particular song. “This song is really special. It’s called ‘Dressing Up,’ so it’s going to be a big record, I think,” he said. “It definitely fits. It’s right there in what her sensibilities are as a musician and a songwriter. She doesn’t change much. She has a very keen musical taste. It’ll be really good.”

“We always knew that the records we created were special [and] at the time it was more contractual obligation [that they didn't make the record],” he added. “I can only have so many songs produced by me on the record. She didn’t need to have extra songs at the same time.”

In addition to the new album news, Katy tweeted about ending her California Dreams Tour over the weekend in Manila. She dedicated the last show to a fan who had committed suicide. “I hope you’re finding peace up there on that pink cotton candy cloud. I dedicate this last show to u, sweet dreams angel #RIPKatyCatAllie,” she tweeted.

Perry is expected to next appear at the Grammy Awards, where she is up for two awards.
