Capitol Records is adding another weapon in its arsenal to help Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away” reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
The label today (Dec. 15) serviced a remix of the song featuring rapper B.o.B to pop and rhythmic radio. It expects to make the track available for digital purchase as soon as next week.
The first five singles from Perry’s album “Teenage Dream” all reached No. 1 – “California Gurls,” featuring Snoop Dogg; the title cut, “Firework”; “E.T.” (which upon its release as a single featured Kanye West, as opposed to Perry’s solo album version); and, “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” – making the set just the second, following Michael Jackson’s “Bad” (1987-88), to yield five Hot 100 leaders. Should “One” hit No. 1, “Teenage Dream” would become the first album to generate six Hot 100 toppers.

Saturday Night Live drew solid ratings this weekend with first-time host Katy Perry and musical guest Robyn.
Saturday night’s episode of the NBC sketch-comedy show averaged a 4.8 rating in the metered-market households. That marks SNL’s highest metered-market household rating since the Nov. 5 episode with host Charlie Day and musical guests Maroon 5.
In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, SNL averaged a 2.7 rating in the adults 18-49 demo, making it the No. 11 telecast of the night in the LPMs, topping all primetime programming on the broadcast networks.
Perry appeared in at least nine sketches during the Saturday’s show, portraying Christina Aguilera in a parody of New Year’s Eve, recent musical guest Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine and a ballsy Pippa Middleton, among others.
Perry tells MTV News the Swedish star is ‘the epitome of effortless cool.’
NEW YORK – Katy Perry knows a thing or two about being the musical guest on “Saturday Night Live”. But this week, she steps up into the role of hostess, and she’s welcoming her former California Dreams tourmate and Swedish pop powerhouse Robyn as the show’s musical guest.
When MTV News caught up with the pop stars during rehearsals Thursday, they opened up about reuniting for the late-night show. “It was a pleasure to do rehearsals here today in the ‘SNL’ studio,” Robyn told us. “You’re gonna see what you always see: me, like, dancing and giving it my all.”
While Perry and Robyn, an “SNL” first-timer, hung out a bit during a promo shoot – co-starring the show’s city correspondent, Stefon (played by Bill Hader) – she said she hadn’t yet gotten some words of wisdom from the California Gurl.
But when we asked Perry if she had any advice for her pal, she didn’t think she had much to offer.
“I don’t need to give her advice,” she said. “She needs to give me advice. She’s cool, dude. She makes everyone cooler. … She’s just, like, the epitome of effortless cool, like you look at her wardrobe and you think, ‘I don’t think I could wear that,’ but she wears it and she just owns it.”
There’s one look you may see Perry sporting on the show that was inspired by the singer. “She’s always wearing platform shoes, whether it’s, like, creepers or Prada shoes. And she was wearing them way back when, in the beginning of the tour,” she said. “And now Prada’s doing them; everyone’s wearing them. Rihanna’s wearing them. I’m wearing them after all of the convincing, so she’s kind of the tastemaker. It’s gonna be a great show because of that.”
It’s always an honor to head over to 30 Rock, attend “Saturday Night Live” rehearsals and get to interview the celebs they’ve picked to be on the show that week. It’s a chance I’d never turn my nose at. This week, I had the most awesome pleasure of chatting with this week’s host Katy Perry and musical guest Robyn. (The pair had previously toured together on Katy’s “California Dreams” tour, FYI.)
In addition to getting some awesome inside scoop about the show from the two pop stars (and just who Katy is getting hosting advice from. Hint: She’s married to him), I also got the chance to check out the duo, joined by Bill Hader, doing his legendary Stefon act, putting together one of the show’s funny little promos.
In between takes, the trio hung around, chatted a bit and Bill pretty much stayed in his Stefon character the entire time. In the hours leading up to Katy and Robyn’s episode, airing Saturday night (obviously!), we’re sure you’ll see these promos rolling out.

Marina and the Diamonds has revealed that she learnt a lot while touring with Katy Perry.
The singer, real name Marina Diamandis, recently toured with Perry on her ‘California Dreams’ tour and took the opportunity to analyse every aspect of the production.
“I think I relate to Katy because she fought really hard to get where she is right now,” she told Stylist magazine.
“I chose to do the tour with her because I wanted to analyse everything. The production was amazing – it’s one of the biggest tours in the world right now – and I learnt a lot from her.”
Diamandis added that she no longer gets frustrated about being compared to other female perfomers.
She said: “I don’t care anymore about the comparisons but I used to. As a female singer starting out, you’ll always be grouped with other women. But once you’ve established your name as an individual, it doesn’t happen.”
