Well done! Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” 2010 album reached 3x Platinum in the UK after sales of over 300,000 this year in the UK. Along with sales of 2010, Katy’s album now sits over the 900,000 in the UK. It was certified January 7, 2010 double Platinum for sales over 600,000.

Total Sales in the UK: 923.800

The album has also received 2x platinum in the U.S months ago. Congratulations Katy!!

Up 15-10, ‘The One That Got Away’ makes the album just the seventh ever to generate that many top 10 hits.

Katy Perry squeezes in yet another impressive achievement for which to be thankful this year.

Her “Teenage Dream” album becomes just the seventh album in the 53-year history of the Billboard Hot 100 to generate at least six top 10s, as “The One That Got Away” leaps 15-10.

The song joins the set’s first five singles, all of which reached No. 1: “California Gurls,” featuring Snoop Dogg; the title cut, “Firework”; “E.T.,” featuring Kanye West; and, “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)”

A more mammoth milestone could still lie ahead for Perry: with one more No.1 from the set, “Teenage Dream” would pass Michael Jackson’s “Bad” to become the first album to generate six Hot 100 No. 1s.

Now in its 65th week on the Billboard 200, “Teenage Dream” has sold 1.9 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Upon Perry’s latest feat, here is a look at the select seven albums, by five artists, to spawn as many as six Hot 100 top 10s, an achievement last managed by Janet Jackson’s “janet.” in 1993-94:

Such is the thinking, as voiced by EMI Music/Capitol Records EVP/marketing and promotion Greg Thompson, behind the label’s decision to release a sixth pop radio single from Katy Perry’s album, “Teenage Dream.”

The set’s “The One That Got Away” goes for airplay next month.

And, what could be gained is a first in the Billboard Hot 100′s 53-year history.

The first five singles from the album – “California Gurls,” featuring Snoop Dogg; the title cut; “Firework”; “E.T.,” featuring Kanye West; and, “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” – all reached the Hot 100′s summit, making Perry the first woman to notch five No. 1s on the chart from one album.

Michael Jackson is the only other artist to have accomplished the feat, having scored five leaders from “Bad” in 1987-88. (The sixth single from “Bad,” “Another Part of Me,” peaked at No. 11. Seventh and final single “Smooth Criminal” reached No. 7).

Thus, should “One” follow the first five singles from “Dream” to the top, Perry would become the first artist to crack open a six-pack of Hot 100 No. 1s from one album.
